POCATELLO — Opportunity is knocking for Idaho entrepreneurs, small business owners, and inventors through the upcoming Idaho Business & Technology Incubation Center, located inside the Gate City’s Museum of Clean. The business incubator will focus on mentorship, development, collaboration, and technical assistance for Idaho entrepreneurs and innovators looking to grow a business or develop a new concept.

Ali Khan, CEO of MOATiT and information technology advisor for the Clean World Foundation, expressed his excitement for the potential of the business incubator and its ability to connect people, ideas, and technology. MOATiT, a Pocatello-based IT support provider, has partnered with the Clean World Foundation — a nonprofit organization associated with the Museum of Clean — to make this vision a reality

“The real job of the incubation center is to bring in the right people and connect them with the right people,” Khan said. “That’s the core of what we’re doing. For example, at MOATiT, we’ve built technology that needs to reach the market. We’re great developers but don’t always know how to form companies, manage investments, or handle valuations. The idea of the incubation center is to connect all these people together and help them scale.”

The new space, located at the Museum of Clean on 711 S. Second Ave., will serve as a business incubator and innovation hub for Idaho entrepreneurs. It will provide opportunities for new businesses to grow through technology support, product research, consulting, and marketing resources.

Additionally, the business incubator will emphasize education — teaching the next generation of IT developers about artificial intelligence, quantum computing, online marketing, and remote job readiness. Already, the first free educational class in July — focused on applied AI for young adults aged 15 to 25 — has reached capacity. Applications for the next session will reopen in September, allowing more Idaho entrepreneurs and students to participate on a recurring basis.

Samantha Stoddard, executive director of the Clean World Foundation, noted that this initiative will have an impact well beyond Pocatello.

“This is not specific to Pocatello,” Stoddard said. “This is a project that is an opportunity for people in our region to participate in. We’re working with the (Southeast Idaho Council of Governments) and (Regional Economic Development for Eastern Idaho), which are economic development groups, to push this along. There’s a lot of people that are in this to support this project and make it successful.”

Over the coming months, the Idaho Business & Technology Incubation Center will continue to build partnerships between local leaders, educational institutions like Idaho State University, and community investors before officially launching in September.

“One of the products we’re preparing to launch through the platform is called ProviderNote,” Khan added. “That has helped us connect with more local innovators. We’re also supporting a new patented cleaning concept and a sustainability project called Sporadicate, which uses mycelium and mushrooms to break down plastics and pollutants.”
